Dísz (Parade) square Dísz (Parade) square is the center of the castle located at the corner of the civil town and the royal palace. You can find several important baroque palaces here like the Batthyány, de la Motte palaces. Military barracks were standing at Parade (Dísz) square 17 till the end of the 19th century. The 4-storey high building of Military Command was erected here between 1895 and 1897 according to the plans of Mór Kallina in renessaince style. The upper floors of the partially ruined building were pulled down after the end of World War II and further wings of it were destroyed around 2000. It is still unclear what will happen to this building, it is now a heritage so it cannot be destroyed entirely.
